Deputy General Manager

Dublin, Full Time

The Deputy General Manager will assist the General Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel ensuring standards are met at all times. To liaise with and support all Heads of Departments regarding the daily operations of the hotel and assist in budgeting and forecasting.

  • Responsible for the overall running of the operation to high four star standards
  • In the absence of the General Manager the Deputy General Manager will manage the business in accordance with the policies, strategies and standards set.
  • In consultation with the General Manager producing a plan to develop and expand the food and beverage business and improve the conference revenue. 
  • Ensuring control, procedures and systems are improved and maintained throughout the hotel to ensure the smooth running of the hotel
  • To forward plan for the business and ensure correct staffing is maintained and the hotel reaches the level of service expected through a motivated and well organised team whilst adhering to labour budgets
  • Audit and monitor standards and improve upon to ensure guests receive high standards of service throughout. Ensure SOP manual in all departments and training carried out to ensure all team members work to same standard to ensure consistent standards of service
  • Assist with facilities management of the property to ensure high levels of maintenance are achieved
  • As Deputy General Manager you will motivate and coach the team and work to develop senior team members so that training ethos is developed in the hotel
  • Correspond and communicate with guests showing a high level of competence in letter / email writing and complaint handling
  • Oversee Risk management and Health and safety
  • Assist General Manager with KPI’s to assist in driving business and ensure targets are met
  • To assist the General Manager to achieve the strategic plan
  • Carry duty management shifts

Qualities required for the role

  • Experience from Hotel Operations in Ireland ideally with strong food/beverage and rooms knowledge at Deputy/Operations Manager experience
  • A natural leader with excellent communication skills
  • Warm outgoing personality with a good presence on the floor
  • Solution orientated and can work on own initiative
  • Possess very high standards and attention to detail
  • Flexible with an ability to multitask
  • Previous experience in managing a team essential at Operations and or Deputy General Manager level
  • Standards orientated – raise level of service in building
  • Very good organiser and naturally double checks and follows through on tasks
