General Manager

Galway, Full Time

Our client is looking for a General Manager to take on the day to day management of a leading bar & restaurant, located in Galway just of the M6, serving good hearty Irish style food and includes a busy weekend bar trade. 

  • Have a high level of customer interaction and involvement of the operations.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the premises including stock ordering, customer relations and booking management.
  • Be solely accountable for the financial performance of the business.
  • Ensuring all departments adhere to budgets and targets.
  • Roster, recruit, train, develop and motivate staff.
  • Upskilling yourself and those around with your learned knowledge from suppliers, training supports, etc.
  • Manage all staff on a daily basis to ensure all service standards are maintained.
  • Support the owners with projects to grow the business and other business opportunities.
  • Prepare forecasts, budgets, manage accounts and complete financial documenting with accountants.
  • Manage the kitchen with current head chef, and plan for events and opportunities.
  • Manage all financials and banking within the business.
  • Responsibility for Health & Safety compliance and legislation.
  • Ensure building is maintained, clean and presentable at all times. Key eye for detail and standards.
  • Responsible for marketing and social media.

The Person:

  • A highly experienced hospitality person which ideally would have country pub experience in Ireland
  • Is service driven to manage the operation, teams, and finances of the business.
  • Have experience within a high-volume venue with food & beverage
  • Previous key holder experience
  • Flexibility with shift times
  • Be committed to continual personal improvement and advancement in their profession.
  • Have a keen eye for detail.
  • Be a hands-on leader with excellent communication skills.
  • Level-headed/sensible and consistent in nature, trustworthy and reliable
  • Ability to work flexibly under pressure with a positive demeanour.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong operational experience
