General Manager

Dublin, Full Time

Experienced General Manager required to manage the day to day running and the future plans a hote operation in Dublin. Will be responsible for achieving the goals and objectives of the business and ensure strategic plans are in place.

  • To maintain a strong presence in the business, ensuring that a positive customer care ethos is evident.
  • To ensure the business is adequately staffed in line with business levels to maintain operating standards in terms of efficiency and customer care.
  • To control payroll costs in line with budget and ensure hours of work are recorded correctly as per company guidelines and approved weekly for payroll.
  • To support the delivery of agreed financial budgets, in terms of revenue and costs, and work closely with Bar & Kitchen to achieve departmental KPI’s and profit targets.
  • To ensure that all areas of the business are maintained and presented in a manner that reflects positively on the business and enhances the guest experience.
  • Assist marketing team with on-site implementation of promotions and offers to enhance value offered to customers and drive sales. Ensure all offers are communicated to the team and POS are updated in line with current offers
  • To ensure that regular stock takes are conducted, and margins are monitored consistently to enhance departmental profits. Work with the audit team to identify where possible losses could occur and to develop procedures to limit such losses
  • To host weekly operational meetings with Head Chef,  Managers, Supervisors to ensure efficient and effective communication within the business
  • Carry our Performance Reviews with all employees and look at Training required
  • Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve performance
  • To book live entertainment for the venue and work with marketing team on promotion and social media activity promoting the business
  • To Manage security team to ensure premises is always maintained in a safe manner for the enjoyment of all customers
  • To work closely with HR on all employee related issues, HR & Training Compliance that may arise and ensure there is effective communication with HR department to maintain a positive working environment for the team.
  • Represent the Company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms for the Company
  • Maximise all potential business development opportunities
  • Ensure HACCP and all H&S plans are in place

Candidate:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working as a General Manager  senior food and beverage management role  in Ireland, Dublin, London or International
  • A background in training and leading a team to the highest of standards and managing high volume food and beverage operations
  • Hospitality Management qualification – or similar
  • Excellent People Management Skills
  • An understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques.
  • A very high level of commercial awareness.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in EU to be considered
  • Salary guide €80-100k+
