About the Role
Our Client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Hotel Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of the hotel. This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance while supporting the leadership team with strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will have strong hospitality finance experience and a proactive approach to improving financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all financial operations including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, revenue performance, and operating costs to ensure financial targets are met.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and financial procedures.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger management.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Analyse financial data and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with department heads to monitor budgets and control costs.
• Coordinate with external auditors, accountants, and financial institutions when required.
• Supervise and develop the finance team.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• 5+ years of finance or accounting experience, ideally within the hospitality or hotel industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Experience with hotel management and accounting systems (e.g., Opera, Sage, Fidelio, or similar).
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Accountant in a hotel or resort.
• Knowledge of hospitality KPIs such as RevPAR, ADR, and GOP.
• Experience managing audits and financial compliance in hospitality.
