Maintenance Technician Full Time NEW

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Technician. You must have both mechanical and electrical experience with a strong understanding of an automated environment. This is a multi – skilled role.

Overall purpose of the job:

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of planned and unplanned maintenance of plant and utilities, in compliance with the companies Quality standards.

Maintenance Technician.

• On a day to day basis, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the executing, monitoring and recording of the maintenance breakdowns and breakdown follow ups.
• Responsible for delivering a high-quality maintenance service to production. The technician must ensure that maintenance works efficiently, effectively, safely and in line with the maintenance strategy
• Proactively identify and remedy equipment maintenance issues, to maximise equipment uptime
• Providing maintenance support, entering data, updating equipment records, produce performance reports and participating in continuous improvement follow up
• Electrical and Mechanical trouble-shooting
• Electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, also pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
• Assist subcontractors as required
• Technical support for the plant facilities and services, including compressed air, refrigeration and steam.
• Carry out running adjustments to minimise machine downtime and to eliminate any issues which may affect line outputs
• Reporting of any on-going issues to the Engineering Manager.
• Liaising with department engineers and other support personnel to identify and solve problems
• Assist with the drive for ‘Cost Reduction Initiatives’ across the site from providing ideas though to implementation. This should also include Energy Saving Opportunities (ESOs)

Qualifications and Experience

• Electrical/Mechanical Senior Trades or Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline
• Experience in the Food Manufacturing Sector
• Formal training / certification in any of the above would be advantageous
• At least 4 years relevant experience
• Proven track record in Preventative and Reactive Maintenance in a similar environment.
• PLC experience
• Both Electrical/Mechanical experience are a key aspect to this role and applicants need a number of years’ experience in both disciplines
• Aptitude for process awareness, diagnostic / trouble-shooting experience gained in a Hi-volume environment
