My Client is looking for a Sous Chef to join their team in a busy 4* Hotel in Waterford. Accommodation can be provided for this role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Direct food preparation and collaborates with head chef.
Produce high quality plates, including both design and taste.
Oversee and supervise kitchen staff.
Assists with menu planning, inventory, and management of supplies.
Ensures that food is top quality and that kitchen is in good condition.
Keeps stations clean and complies with food safety standards.
Offers suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen’s performance.
Prepares food safely.
Assist head chef with scheduling staff shifts.
Train new employees.
Assist head chef with ordering of food supplies.
Monitors and maintains kitchen equipment.
Solves problems that arise and seizes control of issues in the kitchen.

Candidate:

Level 1 and 2 food safety certificate / HACCP
Level 2 health and safety in the workplace certificate.
Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
Awareness of manual handling techniques.
Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety.
Experience of kitchen equipment.
Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives.
Competent level of English spoken and written.
Creative, calm under pressure and leadership skills.
Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.

Salary guide: €40-45k
