New survey findings have revealed that social media is increasingly becoming the new market place for jobseekers and employers. Carried out by Adecco, the survey  included over 17,000 jobseekers and 1,500 recruiters from 24 countries who shared their experiences and opinions on the value of social media in job hunting and recruiting.

Over half (53%) of participants reported that their recruitment activity involved the internet, particularly social media, with this percentage expected to continue to increase. While 50% of  jobseekers said they use social media to identify job opportunities, 70% of recruiters say they use social media as a recruitment tool. While 30% of participants reported that they had been contacted by a recruiters on at least one occasion, 9% said this ultimately led to a job offer.
