Head Chef – Luxury Hotel, Cork
Salary: €50,000 – €55,000 (Accommodation cost included in package)

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef to join the team of a prestigious luxury hotel in Cork. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in fine dining and kitchen management, combined with strong administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations across multiple outlets, ensuring top-quality food preparation and presentation

• Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers

• Ensure all dishes meet recipe, portion, and plating standards consistently during service

• Support staff training, performance evaluations, and foster a positive working environment

• Collaborate on menu development including seasonal specials and new dishes

• Manage inventory and supplies to optimize stock levels and minimize waste

• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, ensuring proper sanitation practices

• Conduct regular quality checks on food taste, temperature, and presentation, addressing issues promptly

• Assist with kitchen scheduling and coverage, stepping in as Head Chef when required

Candidate Requirements:

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within high-volume, fast-paced kitchens

• Proven leadership and team management skills

• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation

• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills

• Ability to perform effectively under pressure
