Assistant Bar Manager

Location: Laois

Salary: €30-38k

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the smooth and efficient management of the Bar operations that also has strong food elements to the bars.
  • To ensure reservations for the Bars are managed correctly and to liaise with all relevant departments with regards to special request.
  • To ensure that service areas of responsibility are clean and well maintained
  • To ensure that the ambience in departments (lights, music and temperature) are controlled.
  • To ensure guest feedback is acted upon in a timely manner ensuring the relevant people are informed and that all necessary action is taken to prevent re occurrences.
  • To assist the Bar Manager with monitoring all purchasing and costs in the department and to ensure that spend is in line with budgets and in line with purchasing procedures.
  • To ensure departmental sales are achieved in line with the hotel budget.
  • To assist Bar Manager with maintaining payroll in line with forecasted & budgeted targets.
  • To accept a flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests and to maintain flexibility within teams.
  • Drives business results through revenue growth and cost savings efficiency.
  • To ensure ‘wastage costs’ (i.e. breakage, spillage, etc.) are minimized.
  • To maintain beverage cost within the budgeted targets
  • in own department
  • To ensure that the hotel is compliant with all Food Safety regulations
  • To ensure all accidents and incidents are investigated and reported in accordance with the hotel’s accident/ incident reporting procedure.
  • To support the hotel’s Environmental policy by complying with waste management and monitory energy efficiency.

Candidate:

  • Hands on Manager with a strong knowledge of food also.
  • To be able to manage staff, create and update SOP’s and train staff.
  • Motivates, inspires, and empowers others to improved performance.
  • Builds and sustains effective relationships with employees and customers.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and regularly shows an ability to adjust their approach to deal with different people and situations.
  • Provides a great work environment and treating each other with dignity and respect and embracing diversity.
