We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join a friendly kitchen team in a modern hotel located in Dublin City Centre. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Working alongside the kitchen team, you will assist with food preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and help ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place for service.
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented in line with hotel standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen at all times.
• Follow all food safety, HACCP, and health & safety procedures.
• Receive and store deliveries correctly, ensuring stock is rotated using FIFO principles
• Minimise food waste through careful preparation and portion control.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen is desirable.
• A recognised culinary qualification is an advantage but not essential.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.
• Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
