Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities & Engineering Manager to join a prestigious luxury resort in Co. Meath. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the full maintenance and engineering function of the property, ensuring the resort’s facilities, infrastructure, and systems are maintained to the highest standards expected of a luxury hospitality environment.
The successful candidate will lead the engineering team, manage preventative maintenance programmes, and ensure the property operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the engineering and maintenance department across the resort
Manage and develop a team of maintenance technicians and support staff
Implement and manage preventative maintenance programmes for all building systems and equipment
Ensure all facilities, guest areas, back-of-house spaces, and plant rooms are maintained to a high standard
Manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring quality and cost control
Oversee health & safety compliance, statutory testing, and regulatory requirements
Monitor energy usage and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and sustainability
Manage departmental budgets, maintenance planning, and capital projects
Work closely with the senior management team to support operational excellence across the resort
Ensure minimal disruption to guest experience during maintenance or repair work
Requirements
Previous experience as a Facilities Manager, Engineering Manager, or Chief Engineer within hospitality, resorts, hotels, or large-scale facilities
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance
Experience managing maintenance teams and external contractors
Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance standards
Strong organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Relevant technical qualification or trade background is highly desirable
