Duty Manager Full Time NEW

Job Purpose

The Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel during their shift, ensuring exceptional guest service, supporting colleagues and maintaining the hotel’s operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the hotel during assigned shifts, ensuring all departments operate efficiently and to the required standards.
• Provide a visible and professional presence for guests, handling enquiries, complaints and service recovery promptly and effectively.
• Support and supervise hotel teams, ensuring colleagues are appropriately briefed, motivated and delivering excellent service.
• Monitor hotel standards, including cleanliness, presentation, health & safety, security and compliance with company procedures.
• Coordinate with Reception, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance and other departments to resolve operational issues and ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Complete shift handovers, reports and operational checks, escalating significant issues to senior management when required.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents, following hotel procedures and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of guests and colleagues.
• Assist with achieving departmental revenue and cost-control targets while maintaining high service standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and make confident decisions.
• Good knowledge of hotel operations and relevant health & safety procedures.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
