Pastry Chef

My Client is looking for an experienced Pastry Chef who is comfortable working under the supervision of a Head Chef and also under their own initiative. You will be part of a team in a revamped kitchen. This is a fast-paced environment and experience working in volume operations will be a benefit.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within your speciality section
- Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs
- Prepare a variety of baked goods
- Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
- Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
- Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions
- Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
- Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel and train them
- Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends
Requirements and skills:
- Minimum 1 years relevant experience
- Awareness of manual handling techniques
- Awareness of HACCP procedures
- Experience of kitchen equipment
- Understandable level of English spoken and written
- Team management skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
- Team player qualities
