The Pastry Chef is responsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods for all hotel food outlets, events, and functions while ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
Key Responsibilities
· The Pastry Chef will prepare and present high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods.
· The Pastry Chef will develop seasonal dessert menus and new pastry offerings.
· The Pastry Chef will ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation standards.
· The Pastry Chef will oversee pastry production for restaurants, banqueting, weddings, and events.
· The Pastry Chef will maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the pastry section.
· The Pastry Chef will ensure compliance with HACCP and Irish food safety regulations.
· The Pastry Chef will monitor stock levels and assist with ordering pastry ingredients and supplies.
· The Pastry Chef will minimise food waste and control portion sizes and costs.
· The Pastry Chef will ensure proper storage and labelling of food products.
· The Pastry Chef will collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and special promotions.
· The Pastry Chef will train and support junior pastry staff and kitchen assistants.
· The Pastry Chef will ensure allergen and dietary requirements are properly managed.
· The Pastry Chef will maintain pastry equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
· The Pastry Chef will assist in achieving departmental food cost and labour targets.
· The Pastry Chef will deliver excellent quality and service standards to enhance guest satisfaction.
Essential Requirements
· Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef in a hotel or professional kitchen.
· Strong knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert presentation.
· Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards in Ireland.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong organisational and time-management skills.
· Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Qualifications
· Professional Cookery or Pastry Qualification.
· HACCP / Food Safety Certification.
