Assistant Restaurant Manager – Connacht

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for supporting the Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient operations, and the delivery of high-quality food and beverage experiences. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will lead and motivate the team, maintain service standards, and contribute to achieving departmental financial and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will support the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring excellent service standards are maintained.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will supervise and motivate the restaurant team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will assist with staff scheduling, rotas, and labour planning in line with business requirements.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will ensure all food and beverage service is delivered professionally and efficiently.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will support the Restaurant Manager in achieving departmental revenue and profitability targets.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will monitor service quality and implement improvements where required.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will assist with stock control, ordering, inventory management, and supplier deliveries.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety legislation, licensing regulations, and Health & Safety policies.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will train, coach, and develop team members to maintain high performance standards.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will manage guest enquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will support conference, banqueting, private dining, and special event service where required.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will monitor cash handling procedures and ensure accurate end-of-shift reconciliations.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation throughout the restaurant.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will deputise for the Restaurant Manager during periods of absence.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will assist in implementing promotional activities and initiatives to maximise revenue.

• The Assistant Restaurant Manager will prepare operational reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, Food & Beverage Supervisor, or similar hospitality management role.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

• Good knowledge of food, beverage, and restaurant service standards.

• Experience managing staff within a busy hospitality environment.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high service standards.

• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, and Health & Safety requirements.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.

Desirable Requirements

• Qualification in Hospitality Management or a related discipline.

• HACCP certification.

• Manual Handling certification.

• Experience using EPOS systems and hotel Property Management Systems (PMS).

• Wine, cocktail, or beverage knowledge would be advantageous.

• Experience working within a hotel or high-volume restaurant environment.
