Housekeeping Supervisor – Connacht

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Accommodation Manager in the day-to-day supervision of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout the property. The Housekeeping Supervisor will lead the housekeeping team, monitor quality standards, and ensure efficient and effective departmental operations.

Key Responsibilities

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will supervise the daily activities of the housekeeping team, ensuring all duties are completed to the highest standard.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will inspect guest bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will allocate daily workloads and prioritise tasks to meet operational requirements.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will support the Accommodation Manager with staff training, induction, and ongoing development.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will monitor staff performance and provide guidance and coaching where required.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure all cleaning procedures comply with company standards and Health & Safety legislation.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will monitor linen supplies, guest amenities, and cleaning stock, reporting shortages where necessary.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will report maintenance issues promptly and liaise with the Maintenance Department to ensure timely resolution.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure all guest rooms are prepared and available within agreed check-in times.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will respond professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related enquiries.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure lost property procedures are followed in accordance with company policy.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will assist with staff rotas and scheduling to ensure appropriate departmental coverage.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will maintain accurate departmental records and reports.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will support the implementation of deep cleaning schedules and quality improvement initiatives.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will promote a positive working environment and encourage teamwork across the department.

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will deputise for the Accommodation Manager during periods of absence where required.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor, Senior Accommodation Assistant, or similar role within a hotel or hospitality environment.

• Strong leadership and team supervision skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.

• Good organisational and time management abilities.

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, infection prevention, and Health & Safety legislation.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and public holidays.

• Full eligibility to work in Ireland.

Desirable Requirements

• Qualification in Hospitality or a related discipline.

• Manual Handling certification.

• Experience using hotel Property Management Systems (PMS).

• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures.

• Previous experience within a four or five-star hotel.

• First Aid certification would be advantageous.
