Food and Beverage Manager

Location – Galway

Salary – €45,000 + Accommodation

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To manage the smooth and efficient running of the Food & Beverage Department in a luxury hotel operation, ensuring standards and guest satisfaction are maintained at all times thus ensuring revenue is maximized.
  • Extensive knowledge of overseeing fine dining restaurants and managing multiple outlets in luxury hotels.
  • Create a professional, innovative and inclusive department working closely with the team to provide a seamless experience.
  • Knowledge of menu composition and engineering.
  • Ability to convert the knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages into product sales and service.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage marketing/promotional techniques.
  • Knowledge of pricing rationale and strategies.
  • Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations as they affect department.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to effectively manage labor costs & forecast revenues.
  • Financial management skills e.g., ability to analyze P&L statements, develop operating budgets, forecasting and capital expenditure planning.
  • Strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to evaluate business trends, determine applicability to customer profile and modify business strategies accordingly.

 

Candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Assistant F&B Manager or F&B Manager from a luxury property with Irish and or International experience.
  • Passionate about food, wine and people.
  • Experience in delivering premium service to guests.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; encourages new innovative solutions when appropriate.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
  • Effective influence skills.
  • Strong consensus building skills.
