Head Chef – Daytime Role

My Client is looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to manage kitchen activities in a busy daytime Catering operation. You will be in charge of the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring the highest quality and contentment.

This is a day-time role. Experience in a busy environment is essential as well as the ability to maintain a composed demeanour at all times and to develop a kitchen team. The ability to manage both people and financials will be essential in this high volume operation. All menus are already in place and working hours will be Monday to Friday between 7am-3.30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
  • Complete Kitchen financials and reporting
  • Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
  • Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff
  • Oversee the work of Chefs in the team. Responsible for training and development
  • Estimate staff’s workload and compensations
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-oworkers

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven experience as Head Chef or Executive Head Chef
  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
  • Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
  • Good computer skills
  • HACCP or Hygiene certifications 
  • Degree in Culinary science or related certificate 

Salary Guide: €45-50K DOE
