We are looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to join the team of a modern 4-star hotel located in the heart of Dublin City Centre.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional who takes pride in maintaining high standards across hotel facilities, equipment, and guest areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations of the property, ensuring that all facilities are safe, fully operational, and maintained to the highest standards.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in managing preventative and reactive maintenance, coordinating contractors, supporting compliance requirements, and ensuring that guest and operational areas remain in excellent condition.
The ideal candidate will have previous maintenance experience within a hotel or similar hospitality environment, strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to maintenance issues in a fast-paced environment. A hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to health and safety are essential.
• Manage the day-to-day maintenance operations across the hotel, including guest bedrooms, public areas, kitchens, back-of-house areas, and plant rooms.
• Carry out regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance requirements and ensure high standards of presentation and functionality.
• Coordinate and complete preventative and reactive maintenance tasks to minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations.
• Manage and prioritise maintenance requests, ensuring issues are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.
• Oversee external contractors and specialist service providers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, servicing, and repairs.
• Support the General Manager with property improvement projects, refurbishment works, and planned maintenance programmes.
• Ensure all hotel plant, equipment, systems, and facilities are maintained in accordance with relevant safety and operational standards.
• Liaise closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other departments to address maintenance requirements and minimise operational disruption.
• Assist with health and safety compliance, including routine checks, risk assessments, and ensuring statutory servicing and inspections are completed as required.
• Monitor maintenance costs and assist with managing the departmental budget and purchasing of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations and provide practical solutions to minimise impact on guests and hotel operations.
• Previous experience in a Maintenance or Engineering role, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory or management experience is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of general building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within a hotel or commercial environment.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple maintenance requirements.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, and senior management.
• A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards throughout the property.
